As wildfires devastate several regions around the globe, the human toll is evident. But the animal world is also feeling the effects.
In Tenerife, Spain, Canary Island firefighters have been battling a blaze that forced the evacuation of some 12,000 people. 310 pets were also evacuated, with many now housed in emergency shelters.
Among the animals saved was a dog, rescued by firefighters after somehow becoming separated from its owners when they fled.
