There's no time for a breaky-break for Christian Siriano.
The fashion designer revealed that just days before the 2023 Oscars a pipe burst in his studio, where he housed many dresses for the night's big event.
"Well it's 6 days before the Oscar's and a pipe burst in our studio yay happy Monday to us! Ughghghg," the 37-year-old wrote on Instagram March 6 alongside a video showing the damaged office. "THE WORST EVER!"
But it seems we'll still see his gowns on the red carpet at the March 12 ceremony, as he added, "Only a few dresses ruined."
Which is reassuring considering last year Christian was responsible for multiple looks that made the best dress list. When Rosie Perez made her return to the Academy Awards for the first time in two decades, Christian styled the actress in a red hot, floor-length silk and chiffon draped gown.
"Just divine!" Christian gushed on Instagram at the time. "30 years later this icon was a dream to dress tonight."
And there's no hack when it comes to perfectly dressing his clients. Christian just has his finger on the pulse—as he put Jean Smart in a gorgeous, tiered black gown for the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, labeling the 71-year-old's look "glamour witch vibes."
But Christian is keeping tight-lipped on which stars will rock his designs at the Dolby Theatre this year.
However, based on his award ceremony track record, it's safe to say the Oscars gowns will turn heads and spike confidence—just like the 2022 Emmys. Melanie Lynksey wore a custom green chiffon dress by Christian that night and she described her look as the "perfect mix of princess and bad bitch."
"He made something that was for me, for my body," the Yellowjackets star on the carpet. "I feel like a princess, because I have this princessy thing," she said referencing the poofy skirt. "But I also do feel like a little bit of a bad bitch, honestly, because it's so fitted under here, and my husband's like, 'That's sexy!' So, that's what you want."
