ELECTION PROFILE:
The AP will tabulate the following races:Democratic and Republican primaries for U.S. Senate; Democratic and Republican primaries for U.S. House; Democratic and Republican primaries for the state Senate and state Assembly; and Republican primaries for Washoe County commissioner districts 1 and 4.
ANOMALIES:
“None of These Candidates” is a voting option in statewide races, including U.S. Senate races. However, only votes cast for named candidates are used to determine outcomes.
Results will not be released in the state until all voters in line in every county have voted.
Results may not be final on election night. Counties will continue to release results in the days following the election.
The AP will use proportional precincts, whereby the percent of precincts reporting in a county will represent our estimate of the percentage of the vote reported at that time. That estimate can change on election night as we get more information, resulting in occasional fluctuations in the percentage of precincts reporting.
TESTING INFORMATION:
Testing begins Monday, May 20.

6-7 p.m. EDT/3-4 p.m. PDT: Monday, May 20
4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. EDT/1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. PDT: Wednesday, May 22
3-4 p.m. EDT/noon-1 p.m. PDT: Friday, May 24
2:30-3:30 p.m. EDT/11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PDT: Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31
1:30-2:30 p.m. EDT/10:30-11:30 a.m. PDT: Monday, June 3
1-2 p.m. EDT/10-11 a.m. PDT: Thursday, June 6; Friday, June 7; and Monday, June 10
Test results are created electronically to test the accuracy of the election night reporting system. They should not be broadcast, published, replicated, or posted on websites. This advisory will be updated throughout the testing period. Changes may be made up until Election Day.
ELECTION DAY:
The API and Digital Features will have zeros by 2 a.m. EDT on Election Day (11 p.m. PDT Monday, June 10).
Race calls: AP will make race calls on election night unless a race is too close to call. Race calls will be made during testing, except on the day of the final test.
End of tabulation: AP will advise when its election night tabulation of results has concluded.
DELIVERY NOTES:
API: During testing, INCLUDE resultstype=t (for test results) in your query. If resultstype=t is not included, NO VOTES will be returned. Starting Election Day, INCLUDE resultstype=l (live results) or resultstype=b in your query (includes certified results where available). If resultstype=l or resultstype=b is not included on Election Day, NO VOTES will be returned.
Embeddable AP Newsroom Visuals: Layouts will not display test data outside of AP Newsroom; zeros will be visible if they are posted until polls close Election Day. During customer testing sessions, layouts with test results can be previewed in the Your Layouts page. Please note you will need to self-register domains where you wish to publish embeddable layouts.
